Mauritius Whales and Dolphins Expedition

Mauritius Unique Landscape

Nestled in the heart of the Indian Ocean, Mauritius boasts a landscape unlike any other. Beneath the surface lies a hidden gem – an underwater waterfall, where sand cascades down the steep ocean floor, creating an illusion of cascading water. This mesmerizing phenomenon is just one of the many wonders of Mauritius' unique ocean topography. This underwater gem is where sperm whales roam the deep, humpback whales nurture their young in shallow lagoons, and spinner dolphins swim in pods alongside bottlenose dolphins.

Look out for Fins on the Horizon

On our ocean safari, as the sun rises over the horizon, we set sail on a journey of discovery. With binoculars in hand and anticipation in our heart, we scan the horizon for signs of life, a spout of water or fins breaking the surface in the distance. When we spot wildlife, we observe them in distance from the boat and determine their behaviors.  If the conditions are right, we then enter the water and witness them in their truest form, in their natural world.

Once-in-a-lifetime Encounters

In the water, we position ourselves in the right direction and wait for a shadow to appear in distance. As it grows larger and more distinct with each passing moment, stay still as a massive whale glides effortlessly past, its gentle eyes meeting ours in a fleeting moment of connection. The same is true when swimming in a pod of dolphins as they dart and spin around us in a mesmerizing display of grace and agility. In that moment, surrounded by the wonders of the sea, we realize that this is a once-in-a-lifetime encounter that will stay with us forever.

The Best of Both Worlds

After a morning of ocean adventure, the excitement continues as we transition to land exploration in Mauritius. Embark on a thrilling safari adventure through the African Safari, where you can meet giant tortoises, hop on safari trucks and walk alongside majestic lions. Conquer Le Morne Peak, where panoramic views of the island's stunning coastline reward your efforts, offering a glimpse of the best of both worlds – the wild beauty of the ocean and the untamed wilderness of the land.
